George R. Mitchell Nature Preserve;  FLINTRIDGE

Directions: MItchell Preserve is located @ 5171 Flintridge Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77381

The George Mitchell Nature Preserve is part of the Montgomery County Spring Creek Greenway, which will connect and protect up to 12,000 acres of forest on both sides of Spring Creek, and is located in Creekside Village. The Mitchell Preserve covers nearly 1,700 acres. THis will eventually connect to highway 59.  There are over10 miles of bike trails, natural surface, sustainable tracks built by Talon Trails and maintained by our very own trail steward Fred Wills.


Cypresswood Trail:

Directions;  Trail is on Cypresswood between Kuykendahl and Stuebner Airline, on the south side of the street, across from where TC Jester meets Cypresswood. (TC Jester does not go all the way through at this
time.)
This is an easy trail with some fun technical areas for those who want a challenge. All levels of abilities are welcome.


Huntsville State Park:

Directions:  Located @ 565 Park Road, 40 west, Huntsville, TX 77340

(Approx. 34.5 miles or 30 min. from The Woodlands.) North on I-45, exit Huntsville State Park exit, head west under overpass 2 miles to park entrance.

Huntsville has an excellent set of maintained trails with over 15 miles with new grants building new trails soon.Excellent place to bring the whole family. If your a camper bring your gear or cooler for day trip.


Double Lake Federal Park:

Directions:  Located @ 301 FM 2025 Coldspring, TX 77331

(Approx. 43 miles or 38 min. from The Woodlands.) North on I-45, exit Willis FM1097 East, Head east on 150 for 17 miles, turn right on 2025, Doublelake State Park is on the left 1/2 mile. There is approximately 28 miles of single track.   This is a great place to go dry or raining as it drains probably better than any course in the State.  There are some beautiful trails, some sections make you think your riding along the upper west coast. Excellent place to bring the whole family.  If your a camper bring your gear or cooler for day trip.
